How to ship household goods overseas...
If you‘re preparing to use an International Removals company, there are important things to consider first.
There are a couple of ways that you can ship your personal effects and household goods overseas. The cheapest and most cost effective way is for you to load either a 20ft or a 40ft container at your premises, this will depend on the access for the truck and if there are any parking restrictions.
Understandably this is not for everyone, we at First Base Freight understand this so we also offer a packing service as well. We can supply you with any amount of boxes of various sizes to suit your individual requirements to help you on your way. We can either supply these by courier well in advance of shipment or we can arrange a collection of your household goods on a date suitable to you. You can rest assured that your goods will be in professional and very competent hands if you were to choose this option.
If you were to choose this option of having your goods collected by us, we would carefully pack your goods on to our vehicles to be loaded in to boxes, packed securely and professionally by utilising every available space. Your household goods would then be loaded tightly on to a pallet inside our warehouse, wrapped in bubble wrap for extra protection then shrink wrapped for added security. We would then cover your palletised goods with a black plastic cover and seal it to the pallet ensuring that all of your goods are away from prying eyes. All of our pallets are heat treated and stamped for export and will be security sealed.
Or alternatively as mentioned earlier, you can choose to have a container sent to your premises so that you can load it yourself, we allow 3 hours free loading time then there is a charge of £65 per hour or part hour thereafter. We offer weekly shipments to over 5000+ worldwide destinations by container services for either a 20ft or a 40ft container. This is by far the cheapest of the two options..
