Relocating Overseas

What to do

Relocating with your valuable goods or family is not an easy task, you maybe considering taking your car, boat or caravan with you. Here we explain how we can take the stress out of shipping your goods hassle free both professionally and competently.

First off you should make sure that the company that you hire are fully experienced, confident and only have your total concerns in mind when shipping any of your goods no matter how big or small it may be. There are many different ways of transporting your vehicle and you need to make sure that you choose the right one to suit your vehicle to keep you risk free, for example...

Roll on/Roll off (RoRo) - This is a ship designed to carry rolling cargo, this does not require cranes to load or off-load your vehicle but is simply driven on and off the ships decks.

Shipping Container - There are 3 sizes of container to consider, a 20ft, 40ft or a 40ft High cube container. A shipping container is a more secure way of shipping as the container is sealed with a security seal after goods have been professionally loaded at the port.

You will need to take in to consideration the value and the size of your vehicle to make you choose the best option for you. For example, if you do own a very expensive car such as a classic/vintage vehicle or even a sports car of high value then it would be advisable to have it loaded straight in to a container. Your vehicle has added protection from the elements whilst being shipped and offers complete security from prying eyes or sticky fingers.. I must state that theft is an extremely rare occurrence but like everything else in life, you can never be too careful! If however security is not an option then you may want to ship on a roll on/roll off vessel, your vehicle is loaded on to the vessel by professional car handlers on to the lower deck, this is by far the cheaper of the two options and is by far the cheapest to unload at the destination. If having to unloading a container then you would also have to pay for devanning costs (unloading the container) which will also incur a fee.
